portfolio: writing

During my time working for creative agencies Mindpower Inc. and BC/DC Ideas, I have written various print and online pieces for education and non-profit clients. My favorite part of these projects is interviewing the subjects. Using my extensive background in broadcast, I craft questions that will prompt the interviewees to engage in an open and honest dialogue. I know the best part of being an effective writer is being a good listener! See some work samples from my time at Mindpower below.

To read some of my creative writing samples, check out my personal blogs (found at bit.ly/30DaysOnFire as well as on this website) as well as “Mugshot,” a project featuring some of my favorite coffee shops in my hometown of Durham, NC. In college, I was a feature writer for Her Campus online magazine, and was also chosen as a guest writer for Student Health 101.

When I was in grad school, I wrote a blog post twice a week for my coffee blog, “Mugshot.” I posted original cafe reviews, my favorite coffee-related products, and a whole latte more.
