portfolio: on-camera

It is my dream to one day return to working on camera – nothing gives me the adrenaline rush and pure joy that hosting does. I love interviewing people, talking about current hot topics, and giving my (always strong) opinion!

In college, I majored in Media Arts and Entertainment: Broadcast. I took courses ranging from Public Speaking and Television Production, to Media Law & Ethics and Media Writing. Some of the most valuable lessons I learned, though, were out of the classroom and in the studio.

After an extensive audition process including teleprompter tests and live on-screen improv, I was selected to be a full-time host of Elon’s weekly primetime cable talk show, E-Talk. Not only did I love planning and hosting my own segments each week, but I also enjoyed interacting with all types of Elon students (on and off-screen) who I most likely wouldn’t have met otherwise.

Check out my e-talk reel, below:

In addition to hosting e-talk, I also created Coffee with Carrie – a short web series of interviews with my friends. Here’s one of my favorite episodes:

When not hosting live in front of the video camera, I enjoy shooting still photography. Here is a series of self portraits I concepted, shot, and edited (in grad school).
